Interview by Randy Gener* It has been traditional in Miyagawan criticism to state that the Japanese-born Asian American playwright Chiori Miyagawa can’t resist but be poetical. “Ineffably beautiful,” “delicate,” “surprising stage pictures,” “impressionistic”—these encomiums follow her work around like a
