Le mot en vient \u00e0 signifier : transformer une chose en une autre.<\/p>\n<p><em>Critical Stages\/Sc\u00e8nes Critiques<\/em> a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 quelques sp\u00e9cialistes de la notion d&#8217;adaptation au th\u00e9\u00e2tre d&#8217;\u00eatre un peu plus pr\u00e9cis en partant de leurs propres conceptions de ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne et en donnant quelques exemples singuliers de l&#8217;adaptation tels qu&#8217;on l&#8217;observe aujourd&#8217;hui. En renon\u00e7ant\u2014pour le moment?\u2014\u00e0 une tr\u00e8s probl\u00e9matique th\u00e9orie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l&#8217;adaptation, nous souhaitons, plus modestement, partir d&#8217;exemples concrets, en multipliant les contextes, voire les genres (th\u00e9\u00e2tre, litt\u00e9rature, peinture) comme autant de cas particuliers.<\/p>\n<p>Une chose est certaine : chacune de mes invit\u00e9es est une autorit\u00e9 dans son domaine ; elle s&#8217;adapte \u00e0 la complexit\u00e9 des exp\u00e9riences th\u00e9\u00e2trales autant que le th\u00e9\u00e2tre s&#8217;adapte aux regards qu&#8217;elle porte sur lui.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong><strong>Patrice Pavis<\/strong> est professeur \u00e0 la School of Arts, University of Kent, \u00e0 Canterbury.
