The primary aim of Critical Stages\/Sc\u00e8nes critiques is to provide an outlet for critical writing that contributes to cutting-edge, international discourse on the theatre.<\/p>\n
We welcome articles of varying subject matter and approach as outlined in the journal\u2019s Call for Papers. We publish in June and December (with deadlines on April 15 and October 15).<\/p>\n
Attachments<\/strong><\/p>\n Please submit your article to your Section Editor and to the Editor-in-Chief as an e-mail attachment, double-spaced in MS Word. Articles will typically range from 1500 to 3500 words (10,000 to 20,000 characters including spaces); please check with the Section Editor if the length is not specified in the Call for Papers.<\/p>\n Permissions<\/strong><\/p>\n Permission to reprint articles is granted with the requirement to include \u201cFirst published in Critical Stages,\u201d along with other citation information and the web address of the journal.<\/p>\n Photos<\/strong><\/p>\n Photos (JPEG) and other types of illustrations are encouraged. Photo Captions Publication History<\/strong><\/p>\n CS\/SC publishes writings that have not been previously published. However, in an exceptional case, a published work may be considered.<\/p>\n Separate Files<\/strong><\/p>\n A separate file should contain a cover letter with author\u2019s name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, and professional affiliation. Only the article title should appear at the head of the article file. \nA personal photo and a short biography of the author should be included.
\nAll necessary permissions for images should be provided. These can be in the form of an e-mail from the company, or documentation that you have procured the images from an official website. Note: If the performance the author attended is other than the opening night, please include mention of the actual date in the text itself. General information regarding the production, however, should match the date recorded in national and international databases.<\/p>\n

\nEach photo of a performance needs a caption, to include: title of the performance; names of the playwright (if there is one), director, company, venue, actors (clockwise from top left); date of the premi\u00e8re; photo credits.<\/p>\n
